Moroccan Wedding Kaftan and Takshita

For those who do not know, the takshita is a two piece long dress. The top layer, which called dfina, is embroidered down in the front with beautiful motifs, and beads. The sleeves of the dfina are also usually embroidered. It can have a full sets of hand-made buttons all the way down to the bottom, and on the side of the sleeves.

The artisan’s work or what is called Trasen and/or sfifa is on both pieces around the neck all the way to the bottom, on the sides, and on the cuffs.

You can wear with or without a belt. The Takshita is a highly elegant evening dress, and very much in fashion for wedding wear, although it can be worn for all ocassions.

The wedding takshita or kaftan will be more elaborate as befitting a wedding.
